Rolling Plains Adventures - WEEKLY SCHEDULE
Sunday
After you check in and get settled into your lodge you will have a little time to explore. The Bar will open at 6:00 for a meet and greet with your hosts. This is also a great opportunity to meet the other guests for the week. After dinner, there will be a ranch orientation and questions answered about the upcoming week. The Ranch store will then be open.
Monday
Monday Morning
After breakfast everyone will meet at the corrals for the horse orientation. This is where you will meet your Wranglers and your horse. Your tack will be sized and adjusted before heading out for your morning ride. While Riding is never mandatory, it is always an option as rides go out every morning and every afternoon. The morning rides will return back to the ranch in time for lunch.
Monday Afternoon
After lunch you will have the option of the afternoon ride, or the guided nature hike to Quicksand Quarters. Both will have you back to the ranch late in the afternoon.
- Wranglers vs. Guest Volleyball game to follow.
Monday Evening
Every evening the bar is open for happy hour, before dinner is served at 6:30.
Tuesday
Tuesday Morning
Morning rides or Lake Cabin trip
- Morning rides will leave after breakfast. Rides will start to be broken into more advanced groups, and fast rides will be available for guests that qualify.
- The Lake Cabin trip will leave just after breakfast and return to the ranch late afternoon.
Tuesday Afternoon
Afternoon Cattle Drive
- The Cattle Drive will start after lunch. The cattle will be driven across pastures and plains.
- There will be archery lessons and tournament following the Afternoon ride.
Tuesday Evening
After dinner, there will be a Wrangler campfire roasting smores and marshmallows.
Wednesday
Wednesday Morning
Morning ride to the ghost town of Brittin.
Wednesday Afternoon
Overnight Ride.
- Riders will head out on the range exploring the farthest edges of the ranch ultimately meeting up at Buffalo Wallow Campsite.
- Cowboy dinner to follow.
Wednesday Evening
After the Cowboy dinner, Wranglers will tell stories from generations past, living on the Great Plains.
Thursday
Thursday Morning
Morning ride (returning from Overnight ride) or Lake Cabin trip.
- Morning rides will leave after breakfast.
- The Lake Cabin trip will leave just after breakfast and return to the ranch late afternoon.
Thursday Afternoon
Afternoon Ride and trap shooting.
- The trap range is located on the ranch and guests have the opportunity to shoot trap under the supervision of an instructor.
Thursday Evening
After dinner there will be a campfire.
Friday
Friday Morning
Morning Ride.
Friday Afternoon
Ranch Rodeo.
- Put your skills you’ve learned all week to the test as you compete in Western riding events.
Friday Evening
Steak BBQ.
- Awards will be presented at tonight’s BBQ.
Saturday
Saturday Morning
Breakfast and checkout by 11:00am
